This is a just a sample of the direction we can go in. I have brightened the photo and increased the resolution from 983 KB to 8.52 MB to make it printable. I have added layers to show how we can add painted effects. When I actually do the digital painting I can adjust whether it looks smooth or has texture. I will remove any spots on face for a clean image. I can increase the effects to any degree. As a final layer on the canvas we can add a layer of varnish with a brush to make brush strokes and texture and give it a protective layer.

In this version I have added another layer of the painting effect and I adjusted the shadows. We can still add more or less of the effects.
